Aug 14-18, 2017 @ WSC
Ages 7-15 (Birth Yrs '01-'09)
Olympic Coach: We're pleased to announce that Lyndsey Fry, a Silver Medalist from Sochi, will be joining us for our 2017 summer hockey camp. She will run drills as well as conduct dry land training & chalk talks about what it takes to become an Olympic hockey player, college hockey for women, sports nutrition, and other topics.
Details: Camp will take place at Winterhawks Skate Center in Beaverton from August 14-18. Girls ages 7 - 15 are welcome. (That's birth years 2001-2009.) We'll meet Mon thru Fri (8:30am to 12:30pm daily). We'll have 90 min of ice, plus dry-land training, chalk talks, and reviewing hockey video. (What we call "watchin' tape!")
Cost: $350 & includes t-shirt, jersey, and loaner gear.
Scholarships: RCHC awards scholarships based on financial need and other considerations. To apply, pls download the application form and mail it in. It must be postmarked by July 22, 2017.
Limited Spots: We will only be accepting 40 players on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. This is now the 4th year that we'll be running camp. We create a positive, fun environment for players & we hope yours will join us. If this summer's camp is anything like previous ones, the spots WILL go fast. Sign up soon. (As of May 21, 2017, it is about 50% full.)
Ideal participants will have a foundation of skills on which they're hoping to build and a keen desire to work hard to improve them. (Sorry, but our camp isn't for new players unfamiliar with hockey or unable to skate.)
Other Good Stuff to Know:
- What if my player doesn't get in? Go to our registration site and sign up on the waiting list. If a player drops out, you're in.
- In case you missed it, pls check out this great story on our club in The Guardian.
- There's always a chance that the rink's schedule will change. If that happens, we'll make every effort to minimize the disruption to our players.
