Camp was a Blast!
Aug 3 - 7, 2015 @ Winterhawks Skate Center NOTE: Looking for current season info? Pls click here. Thanks! Our 2015 summer ice hockey camp is open to girls 5-14 and will run daily from approximately 9am - 12:30pm on Aug 3-7, 2015 at Winterhawk Skate Center in Beaverton, OR. It will include 90 fun-filled minutes on the ice, plus dry-land training & chalk talks on positioning, strategy, sports nutrition & other topics. Hockey experience is not required, but it's a bonus. (Players must know how to skate on their own.) All gear included. At camp, players will learn more than hockey skills. We offer a fun, positive, supportive environment to teach girls the amazing stuff we learned playing sports: team work, leadership, good sportsmanship. Do we want 'em to grow up & be Olympic hockey players? Heck yes. But our real goal is to help them gain the self-confidence needed to become strong, assertive young women. Registration for camp is now closed. If you missed the window, please consider joining us in November when our official season kicks off. Learn More: Check out the Oregonian's great story, short video, & photos from camp last year! Scholarships: Would you like to donate to the RCHC Fund? Doing so contributes to our scholarship program and buys sticks, gear, and other items (which we provide for free!) so we can introduce more girls to the sport. The window to apply for camp scholarships ran from July 1 - 10. Sorry, we're no longer receiving applications at this time. Please click here for the scholarship process for Fall season. Note: Alana Blahoski, Olympic gold medalist, had planned to coach at our camp but in mid-May she received an offer to coach for a men's professional hockey team in Europe. So, she can't join us for camp -- bummer! -- but she's promised to fly to PDX for a weekend to host a skills clinic exclusively for the RCHC! We'll keep ya' posted. Praise: Here's what our hockey parents said about camp last year ... "Best Hockey camp ever!!! Great coaches, volunteers, and a motivated group of girls. Absolutely amazing how much these hard working girls improved in only 4 days. And I loved seeing them form new friendships and learn what it means to be a team player. Well done Rose City Hockey Club!" -- Hockey Mom with two girls in camp (who are still in our program!), August 2013 "My daughter held up her red jersey today and said Rose City will change your life!" -- Hockey Mom with a 5 year old player. |
