Fall/Winter Season Wraps Up
Girls 4 - 15 Welcome Our season started Nov 8 at Mountain View Ice Arena in Vancouver, WA. We met on Sundays from 11:45am - 1:45pm with one hour of ice from 12:15 - 1:15pm. (Please note: On Sundays, the rink opens at 11:45. Use side entrance to avoid congestion with the church next door.) Questions? Email us at [email protected]. Dates & Cost: Our Fall/Winter season took place Nov 8, Nov 15, Nov 22, Dec 6, Dec 13, Jan 10, Jan 17 and Jan 24. Spring Season starts 1/31 -- Find more info here! Did ya Know? Our mission isn't just to teach your hockey player about the sport we love -- and still play -- it's also to provide an environment that encourages her to become a strong, confident young woman! New Player: If your daughter is new to ice hockey or can't skate, don't worry. We'll teach her the fundamentals of the game in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. The ability to skate is a bonus but we're more than happy to teach her in our acclaimed "Learn 2 Skate" Zone, a portion of the ice with a high coach:player ratio (often 1:1) and structured play. Trust us, she'll be zipping around the rink in no time! Read more here. Winterhawks Game/Save the date: Sun, March 13th. Coaches, players, and families will attend a 5pm Winterhawks game. Discounted tickets will be available here as the date draws closer. Stay Informed: Sign up for our newsletter, "like" us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @PDXGirlsHockey. (Social media, by the way, is where we normally offer cool free stuff. We've already given away several complete -- brand new! -- bags of hockey gear and Portland Winterhawks tickets.) Help a Hockey Girl: Would you like to donate to the RCHC Fund? Doing so contributes to our scholarship program and buys sticks, gear, and other items (which we provide for free!) so we can introduce more girls to the sport. Scholarships: We believe strongly in making hockey accessible to all families and thanks to generous donors, we have awarded over $1300 to players. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need & other considerations. The window to apply for Spring season scholarships is now open. Click here to learn about Spring season & to download the application. Schedule Changes: Our local rinks do their best to minimize scheduling changes but sometimes problems arise. When they do, we'll relay any change to you as soon as possible. As many of you know, this is simply part of the experience of playing ice hockey at almost any level. Thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility! And if you ever have a question on the schedule (or other stuff), just email us at [email protected]. |
