RCHC's 8U & 10U Fall & Winter Session
Extra Sessions in March End-of-Season Celebration March 17th Welcome to the 2018-19 hockey season for girls 8U & 10U (birth years 2011 through 2008). We kicked off our program in early November. Registration is now closed. With about 70 girls on the ice, we're proud to announced that we have sold out. Overview: This program is ideal for girls who have been skating for some time and have some familiarity with hockey. They should be able to skate and have a keen interest in continuing to develop their fundamental skills. We will challenge them on the ice to get the “basics” right throughout the season, while keeping the focus on fun. Season Details: Duration & Dates: 15 Week program on
End-of-Season Celebration - To recognize your player's hard work all season, we'll hold a quick ceremony after practice on March 17 at the rink. Thanks & see you then! When & Where: Sundays from 11:45am to 1:30pm (actual ice time is 12:15pm to 1:15pm) at Winterhawks Skating Center (Beaverton, OR). Buy Cool Hockey Stuff: Click on SquadLocker to buy a hat, t-shirt, shorts, and other neat gifts for your player. Ten percent of the proceeds go to Rose City Hockey Club, a nonprofit organization. More Info/Mandatory Stuff: (1) A valid 2018/19 USA Hockey membership number is required for registration. (2) All players are responsible for bringing their own mouth guards (and wearing em). Scholarships: Our scholarships have been allocated for the season. The application process is now closed. Extra Ice: Occasionally the PJW get extra ice and they generously offer us access to it. This happens at different dates and times each month. When ice is available, we'll host an extra skate that will be in addition to the above outlined season. The extra skates will be offered as arise as a sort of a la carte style option. We will sometimes use these ice times to practice for tournament or travel games. Please note: all players must register/pay in advance to attend extra sessions (i.e., for insurance & other reasons, ya can't just show up and skate.) Tournament Possibility for 8U/10U: Each year, RCHC identifies a tournament or other game opportunities to compete against other clubs and we have a blast. We plan on doing the same this year. Tournament fees are not included in the regular season registration fee but we will let everyone know what tournament is in the queue for the 2018/19 season when we have ironed out the details! Changes to Rink Schedule: Sometimes the WSC has last-minute changes to its schedule. We'll do our best to minimize the impact on your player's experience and on our program overall.
