RCHC's 8U & 10U Fall & Winter Session

Welcome to our 2018-19 hockey season for girls 8U & 10U (birth years 2011 through 2008). We’re excited to kick off the season and hope you’ll join us!  Click here to register & details follow.

This program is ideal for girls who have been skating for some time and have some familiarity with hockey. They should be able to skate and have a keen interest in continuing to develop their fundamental skills. We will challenge them on the ice to get the “basics” right throughout the season, while keeping the focus on fun.

Season Details:

Duration: 15 Week Program (no skate weekend of Thanksgiving or between Christmas and New Years)

Start and End Dates:  November 4, 2018 through February 24, 2019

Where:  Winterhawks Skating Center (Beaverton, OR)

When:  Sundays from 11:45am to 1:30pm (actual ice time is 12:15pm to 1:15pm)

If you need gear:  Plan to pick up gear Nov 3 from 9am to 11:30am in NW Portland. The first skate is hectic, so please make every effort to attend & get gear in advance. (Location will be emailed after you register.)

More Info/Mandatory Stuff:  (1) A valid 2018/19 USA Hockey membership number is required for registration. (2) All players are responsible for bringing their own mouth guards (and wearing em).

Scholarships:
We believe strongly in making hockey affordable to all girls who want to play. Application forms are available here & must be mailed/post marked by Oct 15, 2018.

Extra Ice:  Occasionally the PJW get extra ice and they generously offer us access to it. This happens at different dates and times each month. When ice is available, we'll host an extra skate that will be in addition to the above outlined season.  The extra skates will be offered as arise as a sort of a la carte style option.  We will sometimes use these ice times to practice for tournament or travel games. Please note: all players must register/pay in advance to attend extra sessions (i.e., for insurance & other reasons, ya can't just show up and skate.)

Tournament Possibility for 10U Only:  Each year, RCHC identifies a tournament or other game opportunities to compete against other clubs and we have a blast.  We plan on doing the same this year.  Tournament fees are not included in the regular season registration fee but we will let everyone know what tournament is in the queue for the 2018/19 season when we have ironed out the details!

Changes to Rink Schedule:  Sometimes the WSC has last-minute changes to its schedule. We'll do our best to minimize the impact on your player's experience and on our program overall. Thanks for your patience & understanding.
